SUV Adelaide: Augment Your Own Reality

Everybody has heard of virtual reality. Crashing into our lives in the 1980s, VR promised to transform our existence, making even our wildest dreams possible. The technology at the time looked a little, well, inadequate, shall we say. But we were all convinced that the bulky headsets and wonky, blocky 3D graphics would one day be so refined they could display hyper-real alternate dimensions. But we all know what really happened. It wasn’t very good and we all decided that real life was actually a whole lot better.

Well, now there’s a new contender for our imagination’s attention. This time it’s called augmented reality (AR). Rather than create a virtual world for us to live in, AR imposes elements of fantasy and fiction onto the everyday world around us. Using your smart phone (and presumably, in the future, some kind of sunglasses-type device) you can choose to add elements to the world around you. So, if you want to see everyone as a cartoon character, then that’s what you can do. Alternatively, if you want everyone in the bar to look like a supermodel or a film star then just put on your AR shades.

Sounds incredible but think about it a little harder. What’s the point of seeing everyone like a carton character? And just because your AR goggles make everyone look like a supermodel, it doesn’t mean that’s the case. The consequences of that could be interesting, to say the least.

AR sounds great but so did VR. We like to think that with a little help from a great car, R is enough by itself. That’s right. Why have a virtual adventure, or even an augmented one, when reality in a pre-owned Jeep Grand Cherokee Adelaide is more than enough of a thrill?
