4x4 Adelaide: Celebrate What's Great

It was over two hundred years ago, on the 26th January 1788, that the First Fleet arrived from Great Britain at Sydney Cove and proclaimed British sovereignty over the eastern seaboard of New Holland.  An event we now celebrate every January as Australia Day.

Celebrated all over the country, and by ex-pats and Aussie-philes all over the world, Australia Day gives us a great excuse to come together as a country and celebrate what’s great about Australia. And lets face it, it’s a pretty long list.

There are many events held to showcase our music, food, history and culture. Or if you really want to celebrate all things Australian, what better way is there then to take a Jeep 4x4 for sale in Adelaide, a Dodge or a Chrysler for a drive through our breathtaking countryside, or along our endless miles of sandy beaches, envied the world over.

If you happen to be out of the country on Australia day, fear not. Appreciation of all things Aussie has spread far and wide, and events take place from London to New York, and Berlin to Hong Kong. And pretty much every youth hostel in the world will be giving a celebratory nod to the home of the world’s most intrepid backpackers.

Although Australia Day is a fairly recently introduced holiday (it only began to be celebrated consistently from 1994) the day has grown rapidly in popularity in recent years. Many traditions associated with the day have now become institutions. Every year the Australian of the Year award crowns our most outstanding citizen. The Honours List for the Order of Australia is announced. And for those lucky enough to be becoming new Australians, citizenship ceremonies take place across the country.

If music is your preferred way to appreciate our unique land, then why not drive your Jeep to one of the many concerts or festivals happening throughout the day. And if you’re driving home late, then why not find a good spot to park up the Jeep Adelaide and watch some of the outstanding fireworks displays happening near you.

But if you really want to celebrate Australia, and take advantage of the holiday, then there really is only one option. Pack the barbeque, a few beers, some food and a few good friends into the Jeep and head off into the Outback. The spend the night experiencing the real essence of Australia, beautiful scenery, clear starry skies, good mates and, most importantly, a few shrimps on the barbie.
