Royal Park is around 9 km north-west of Adelaide City Centre. To the north, via Hendon and Queenstown, is the historic area of Port Adelaide. Recreational space can be found in Carnegie Reserve, and just outside the suburb in the West Lakes area, where there is a golf course, boating lake and other facilities.
